New Moon in Cancer: Where you find your healing, love and
forgiveness is where your wisdom resides.

What does it mean to forgive? And what does it truly mean to not want to forgive? Many of us believe that holding on to our anger makes us stronger, perhaps because we want to show that we are not putting up with another person's behaviours or actions any longer. When in truth, it only keeps us in a cycle of resentment. Nothing in life causes more pain and suffering within us than the judgments we hold against ourselves and others. Judgments, in essence, are thoughts and feelings we hold about what is, what was and what should be. So instead of hoping for a change in others, why not jump-start the change within ourselves? Just like that popular Mahatma Gandhi quote, "Be the change that you wish to see in the world."

Changing ourselves is not always about accommodating to another person's needs or outside circumstances. Changing ourselves can be a gift that we give to ourselves as we make new life changes that can be beneficial to our soul growth and well being. From there, we can gain a new perspective and look at the world around us through new eyes. Forgiveness is also not about approving what another person did to us, but more about forgiving ourselves for thinking that things could have been any different. We learn with each experience that we encounter, and self-forgiveness is that first important step we need to take to find healing from the past.

Healing comes from realizing that there is an endless well of love within us that can help us on our journey to forgiveness. A love that transcends all time and space. A love that transcends all pain and sorrow. Once we are aware of this deep inner love, we will see that our painful experiences are now nothing more than a thought or a feeling that we carry around. And this is when we can begin the process of releasing.

Happy New Moon! The Moon is joining Mercury, the Sun and Venus in Cancer, marking an extra heartfelt and mindful New Moon in the sign of the Crab. Emotions run deep and they are not going anywhere until we 'listen'. Let our emotions speak to us, with valuable messages and divine inspiration. Even in the midst of a busy day, remember to stop every once in a while to listen to our emotions, and ask ourselves, "How am I truly feeling right now?", "What am I supposed to learn from these feelings?", "Is there a way for me to love more or forgive more?". Although the answers may not come right away, listening more closely to our feelings can bring in new insights about ourselves. The New Moon in Cancer is indeed our time to heal and release those trapped or stuck emotions.

With the Moon forming a trine to Neptune Rx and Chiron Rx, we are guided to shift our mindset, from fear to faith. As one of the three water signs of the zodiac, Cancerians have deep emotions, but they can have trouble expressing them openly. By shifting our mindset to faith, we grow a deeper understanding of our own judgments and release our fear of being emotionally honest. Perhaps we need to be more courageous and stand up for our beliefs. To clearly stand our ground without the need to trample over others. To speak our truth by being clearly honest with ourselves. With time and practice, we can free ourselves from dishonesty in all forms and peel off layers of denial that has kept us tied to illusions.

The Moon is also forming a trine to Mars, which has recently gained momentum and began to move forward, inspiring us to understand better the emotional connection between our mind and body. As Plato once said, "The part can never be well unless the whole is well." Our bodies are constantly sending us messages. The physical discomforts we experience are actually tied up to our emotions. Recognize what we are experiencing physically as our body's way of reminding us of what we need to let go to propel us forward in the direction of our soul growth. There is no reason to hesitate. We are now the shaper of our own destiny.

With the Moon's opposition to Pluto Rx and sextile to Jupiter, both currently in Earth signs, a more grounded approach to transformation is being asked of us. A soulful transformation doesn't need to be a metaphysical concept. We may have been juggling a lot lately, from working on relationships, work projects, to managing life changes. We are at a tipping point and the key is to declutter. Try to clear our schedule so that we have more time for self-care to replenish our energy. Find one easy simple action that can help us stay in the present moment without allowing negative energy to pull us down. Make a new agreement with ourselves to freely experience our emotions without calling them wrong or blaming ourselves. Realign ourselves with the beauty of self-acceptance and affirm:

I forgive myself for not wanting to forgive others, and thinking that I can become stronger by doing so. This is no longer about who I need to forgive, but more about how I can learn, grow and evolve from my past. Not with anguish in my heart, but with love and forgiveness in my soul. As I embrace myself fully, I forgive myself more and heal myself even more. I now accept my imperfections and the imperfections in others. I can now understand that we are not here to be perfect, but to be wholly ourselves, and embrace each experience and lesson with an open heart. My soul is free, knowing that I'm always learning, always growing, always evolving. And this is helping me in my healing process. And so it is.
